Indigenous Languages of Manitoba Inc. was established in 1984 by The Native Education Concerns Group to address the critical concerns of Indigenous language loss, which lead to the incorporation in 1985 as the Manitoba Association of Native Languages. Revitalizing the oral histories, promoting the importance of daily language use, and continuing the Traditions and Sacred Teachings of our Elders and Knowledge Keepers were the founding values that ILMB was built upon. Therefore, we continue to be committed to building strong connections with Indigenous communities, ensuring that resources and learning opportunities are accessible are prioritized.
